Youth Ministry

Our vision is to help our youth grow in the "knowledge of Jesus Christ and to mature in faith, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ" (Ephesians 4:13b) by offering them encouraging relationships with multi-generational and multi-gifted leaders, the teaching of God’s Word, corporate prayer, fellowship, service, and evangelism.

When our covenant children are baptized we make a vow to assist their parents in raising them in the fear and admonition of the Lord. Maintaining a vital youth group is one of the many ways in which this vow can be kept. Also, in keeping with this vow, the youth director should point our covenantal children toward the pulpit, where all of us are directed toward Christ.

We here at ACPC believe in a covenantal view of life and ministry. This means, in part, that God works in and through us together as a spiritual family called by and unto Himself. Therefore, we need the full support and, in some sense, the participation of all parents and church members. Ultimately, the goal of our youth group is to create a group of Spirit filled godly people who are active covenant members in the body of Christ, staying together 10, 20, 30 years and beyond. I pray that God will grant us the grace and means to achieve this goal for His glory.

What we do
-Sunday morning Christian education for Jr. High & High School
We use PCA curriculum; our denomination has an outstanding biblical curriculum

-Monthly youth activities
-Service projects: Jr. High & Senior High kids helping at VBS, visiting the elderly in and outside the body
-Weekly youth meetings: The ACPC Youth Bible Study is at 6:30 p.m. at the home of Sam and Renon Pepke.  Contact Sam Pepke for more information.

Relationships/Mentoring
-Care for and disciple our youth through personal contact
-Pray for them and with them
-Promote and oversee mentoring relationships between our youth and adult leaders

Parental Participation
We need ALL the parents to be praying for the entire youth group. Parents are also welcome to join us in our activities.

Pastoral Participation
The youth need the Pastor, not just a Youth Director. They need to see the Pastor cares for them personally. The Pastor shows this by occasionally teaching a class, hosting activities in his home, and by interceding for them in the Pastoral Prayer.

Closing
Ultimately we rest in the assurance that God will accomplish His purpose for His glory through our meager efforts. This is not because of what we do, but because He is faithful.
