WIC was established in 1973 by the PCA. The initials, WIC, stand for Women in the Church. An old-fashioned kerosene lamp, which has a wick, was chosen as our symbol. The reason for this is because the lamp depicts all the elements, which go into a vibrant spiritual life. Also, it is a reminder to us to obey Christ's command to shine as lights in this dark world.

• In order for a kerosene lamp to give light, it must be filled with oil
• The believer’s life must be filled with the oil of the Holy Spirit
• The wick must rest continually in the oil
• We must rest in Christ and draw life and spiritual strength from His Holy Spirit
• The wick must be regulated and trimmed regularly
• Our lives must be daily regulated and trimmed in obedience to God’s Word
• The lamp chimney must be kept clean and clear
• Our light shines to the world as we repent of sin and live in whole-hearted obedience to our Savior.
Our Women in the Church meet monthly, generally the second Sunday of the month at 8:15 a.m. at church.
Members of the WIC council present reports from the various ministries they represent. Only members of the church may vote on the issues at hand, but all women are welcome to attend.
Please contact Gayle Mullen for more information.
WIC hosts two events annually: a Women's Tea and a Christmas Party.
Women's Tea - This festive morning tea is traditionally held the Saturday before Mother's Day in the backyard of one of our families. This special event is an event for all the women of the church and it encourages the Titus2/Spiritual mothering relationships.
We encourage all women to attend which includes married, singles and widows. Mothers are encouraged to bring their daughters 6 years of age or older. Women can volunteer to host and decorate a table and/or to prepare one of the dishes served, such as scones or tea sandwiches. A highlight of the morning is a brief devotional given by one of our own members.
Christmas Party - This time of holiday fellowship is scheduled for early December in the home of one of our women. We sing carols and bring a plate of our favorite hors d'oeuvres or desserts to share. We also have the privilege of hearing from our Pastor's wife and honoring her with a gift.
WIC's Ministries reach out to the ill, bereaved, or families with a newborn.New Moms - Meals are delivered as a gesture of support and love to members of our church family who have a new baby. Please contact Ellen Downs for more information.
Illness/Bereavement - Meals are delivered as a gesture of support and encouragement to members of our church family during times of illness, hospitalization, or bereavement. If you know of a need in this regard, please contact Barbara Lamb, meals coordinator.
We had a wonderful retreat in April, 2008 at Rancho Capistrano Center. Rebecca Jones was our guest speaker; her subject was “Good News from Home …Using Your Home in Evangelism.” We hope to plan another retreat for the Spring of 2009.
