This week, please pray for Peter and Margaret Reynolds as they serve in pastoral training at Grace Theological College in Auckland, New Zealand. Their ministry students serve in cities across the country, with parishioners from around Polynesia. They recently sent us this progress report: 

“Peter has been on a ministry trip to the bottom of New Zealand’s South Island. He was invited to visit the two training centers Grace Theological College has in that area, in the cities of Invercargill and Dunedin. In each city he taught a Pastoral Care seminar and met a number of the GTC students. On Sunday he preached in the two churches that have embraced and supported these training centers.
“The situation in Dunedin warrants particular mention. Dunedin is a university town and is home to a growing student campus ministry centered on the Grace Presbyterian Church. Their pastor, Mark Smith, is a graduate of GTC and most keen to see a GTC teaching presence complimenting their growing student ministry. The GTC teaching is undertaken by Dr Stuart Johnson, who is also fulfilling a key role in mentoring and developing students in the campus ministry. The campus ministry is also wanting their staff to complete GTC courses under Dr Johnson.…So it was with great joy and excitement that Peter was able to talk with these ministry leaders in Dunedin and see first hand the developments taking place. His ministry was well received, and they are keen for him to return. “Our strong links with the local church, complementing their various ministries and helping to train their leaders ‘on the job,’ means that these ministries will grow together and produce much fruit for the Kingdom of God. Dunedin is very much an example of what could happen in our other university cities, with the presence of a local church base and oversight, and with campus ministry and GTC working together. In New Zealand we have two universities in Auckland, and four others in major cities where GTC could partner with local church and campus ministries. Dunedin is a beginning!”
