Vision and Values
“Our vision is to advance God’s Kingdom and build Christ’s church through the Gospel that redeems and changes lives.”
Core Values
~ Celebrate Christ and our life in him (worship)
~ Cultivate Growth in Christ (discipleship and education)
~ Care for one another in the bonds of love (fellowship/koinonia)
~ Communicate Christ to the world (evangelism)
We are committed and submitted to the Old and New Testament Scriptures, interpreted through God’s redemptive work in Christ, as our ultimate rule for faith and practice, believing them to be useful for teaching, correcting and training in righteousness, and secondarily to the Westminster Confession of Faith and the Larger and Shorter Catechisms as faithful summaries of Scripture.
We are committed to joyful and reverent Trinitarian worship that is God-honoring, Christ-centered, Spirit-empowered and Gospel-saturated, with a depth and beauty that edifies believers and communicates the Good News to unbelievers in a comprehensible and compelling way.
We are committed to individual and corporate prayer, expressing our praise, laments and requests to our God.
We are committed to evangelistic ministries, here and around the world, that lovingly and boldly point people to new life in Christ and to worship and grow with God’s people at ACPC.
We are committed to discipleship ministries that foster a dependent and meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ and a greater hunger for and grasp of his Word; that encourage all believers to imitate Christ, in character, word and deed; and that equip people to be faithful spiritual leaders in their homes, in the church and on the mission field.
We are committed to developing strong, encouraging relationships in the body of Christ, which are based not upon political, cultural, or other commonalities, but upon our shared life in Jesus through the bonds of the Spirit who unites us.
We are committed to a “prophetic” ministry of the Word in preaching and teaching, which challenges the beliefs and idols of our culture and our hearts, both within and without the church.
We are committed to supporting a diaconal ministry of mercy and compassion for those who are in physical need within and without our local congregation.
We are committed to the biblical concept of the “priesthood of all believers” and, therefore, to the freedom of every member to minister through their respective spiritual gifts under the loving authority and oversight of the elders.
We are committed to ministries that aim to make us both holy and whole, affirming that to be conformed to Jesus Christ is to become more authentically and fully human.
We are committed to using common grace principles with wisdom, excellence and effectiveness, as we heed the great commission to share God’s redemptive grace with the world.
We are committed to the building up of all believers at ACPC, to aiding the churches of our Presbytery, and to supporting churches of our Presbytery.
